PETITIONS

Decision Maker: Waverley Local Committee

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

A petition was received from Janet, Elm Crescent, Farnham which contains 35 signatures and reads:

“Blind bend on Alma Farnham – double yellow lines required outside houses 7-11, or traffic calming.
It is very dangerous as cars have to drive on the right side of the road when they are coming into Alma Way from Alma Lane and cannot see what is coming towards them.”

The Local Committee (Waverley) resolved to AGREE that:

(i)    Surrey County Council’s parking team will assess this request as part of the 2018 Waverley Parking Review, taking place over September and October and being presented to this committee in December 2018.

Reason: The assessment will allow for all highway and traffic related issues to be taken into account, before determining how to proceed with regards to any potential new parking restrictions. The annual review process ensures that all requests and proposals are considered at the same time, which is the most time and cost efficient way of assessing and introducing parking restrictions in Waverley, and across Surrey.
