Devolution And Local Government Reorganisation - Response To The Government's Consultation On Local Government Reorganisation In Surrey pdf icon PDF 231 KB

    On 17 June 2025, government launched a 7-week consultation on two of the LGR proposals for Surrey, one submitted by Surrey County Council, Elmbridge Borough Council and Mole Valley District Council for 2 unitary councils and another submitted by the remaining district and borough councils for 3 unitary councils.The consultation will run until 5 August 2025 and Surrey County Council has been invited by government to submit a response to the 3 unitary proposal. 

     

    Cabinet is asked to review and approve the drafted consultation response to the 3 unitary proposal, which will be jointly submitted by Surrey County Council, Elmbridge Borough Council and Mole Valley District Council, ahead of the 5 August 2025 submission deadline.
