SURREY HEARTLANDS ICB REPORT TO SURREY CORPORATE PARENTING BOARD

    The purpose of this report is to provide the Corporate Parenting Board with an update and awareness of Looked after Children health services across Surrey, for the reporting period April 2021 to March 2022.

EMOTIONAL HEALTH & WELLBEING OF OUR LOOKED AFTER CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE AND OUR CARE LEAVERS

    At an earlier Corporate Parenting Board, a report was requested on the effectiveness and impact of the support provided to our children in care and care leavers in relation to their emotional wellbeing and mental health. However due to changes in senior leadership in Children’s Services and to enable us to undertake a robust ‘deep dive’ into better understanding the effectiveness and impact of the support provided we are today providing to the Corporate Parenting Board a summary of the scope of our planned multi agency ‘deep dive’ which will be undertaken in late November/early December 2022 and we will report back our findings and planned actions resulting from these findings to the March 2023 Corporate Parenting Board.

    This document provides members with a regular update on key areas for the services which support the delivery of Corporate Parenting across the county. It also provides a summary of the Alerts and Escalations raised on behalf of children by the Independent Reviewing Service.
