The number 8 bus to Slough runs as late as ˜20:00-21:30 on weekdays, but in the opposite direction (from Slough) it only runs until ˜18:30-20:00. Few people are working standard 9-5 shifts and many who work in Slough and Windsor have to commute in from elsewhere. With the last number 8 bus being so early, these commutes can be unnecessarily long for how far is actually being travelled. For example, I work on the edge of Windsor and my shifts finish on average at 8pm. With the current bus times, I have to catch one bus into the center, then catch two trains, another bus and then walk a fair way in the dark. I often get home at around half 10. If the number 8 bus ran only an hour later, my commute could be shortened by an hour and a half. It would be much less tiring after a long day at work and much safer for me to get home. I know that this is also the case for many people with whom I work. Seeing as the same bus going in the opposite direction runs an hour later, I argue that it should run as late from Slough.
