We the undersigned petition Surrey County Council to Create a residents parking zone in South / Central Leatherhead.
The zone will include four areas.
1. Church Road
2. Russell Court
3. Highlands Road
(Between Highlands Avenue and Reigate Road)
4. Gimcrack Hill / Dorking Road
If any part of this zone is deemed impracticable, we request the remainder of the zone is implemented in full.
Eligibility
• Up to one permit per household can be purchased by residents of the following roads,
? Church Road
? Church Walk
? Waverley Place
? The Crescent
? Russell Court (To reflect the inclusion of Russell Court in the zone).
• Permit holders will be allowed to park in any of the areas detailed above.
• Both Highlands Road and Gimcrack Hill have existing residents parking schemes. These permit holders will be able to continue to use this parking. The proposal will allow permit holders of the new parking zone to use any unoccupied space.

Parking in Central / South Leatherhead is extremely
difficult.
The situation for the following roads is particularly
difficult;
• Church Walk
• Church Road
• The Crescent
• Waverley Place
Many of the houses on these roads have no off-street parking.
The buildings pre-date the motor car. Not all houses have road
frontage and those that do have a double yellow restriction
outside.
The Church Road car park is full. The creation of residents
parking schemes on neighbouring roads has compounded the problem.
Increasing residential development around the town centre is also
making the problem worse. We need a residents parking zone to help
local residents who given the proximity to the town centre are in a
particularly challenging situation.
