Potholes are extremely dangerous for all road users.
Users swerve to avoid them, some are so deep that they cause damage to road user’s property and could and do cause accidents.
When wet and full of water or when dark it is impossible to see and avoid them or estimate their size or depth.
Apart from damaging cars, cycles and motor cycles could easily be unseated with severe consequences.
The state of our roads and some of the repairs carried out are, in many cases, not fit for purpose.
Accidents, possibly some fatal ones, large vehicle repair bills, especially when residents are strapped for cash in these most difficult of times, are likely outcomes of poorly maintained roads. More resources and better supervision of our Surrey roads are required.
