The Lammas Lands are a beautiful addition to Godalming, providing a large open space to the local community for walks and runs and we are very fortunate to have it.
The Lammas Lands consists of three main sections, each containing multiple footpaths readily used by walkers. The western most section (opposite the River Wey from the High Street) is only accessible on the western edge from Borough Road. Unlike the other two sections of the Lammas Lands which have multiple entry points, allowing them to be enjoyed much more readily by walkers.
This petition would like to raise the possibility for an additional footpath access point to the Lammas Lands from Bridge Road (for example, opposite Busy Bees). The intention would be that this would be in keeping with the access elsewhere in the Lammas Lands only allowing foot traffic.
The existing footpath already passes right next to bridge road, and this makes logical sense when the site is visited. Indeed, many walkers hop over the short stone wall up onto Bridge Road. The intention would be to formalise this and make it accessible to everyone.
