Preparation of a Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Surrey

It is recommended that the Cabinet Member agrees that Surrey County Council will be the responsible Authority for the production of a Local Nature Recovery Strategy for the county of Surrey and following this a draft Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Surrey is produced and presented to Cabinet.

Borough and Districts officers have been kept informed via officer network professional forums, including the Surrey Planning Officers Association and Planning Working Group.

A Steering Group for the strategy has been set up which involves representatives of the County Council, Surrey Nature Partnership, Local Planning Authorities, Natural England, Surrey Wildlife Trust, Surrey Biodiversity Records Centre, Forestry Commission, Environment Agency, Surrey Hills AONB, National Farmers Union (NFU) and the Country Land and Business Association (CLA).
