Purpose:
To award a schools capital construction contract, above £500k in value, under delegation agreed by the Cabinet at its meeting on 25 September 2012 following the completion of a mini-competition procedure and consultation with Cabinet Members.
Decision:
It was agreed that following a mini-competition tendering exercise and extensive pre-construction preparation, a contract be awarded for the 2013/14 schools capital construction project at Westfield Primary School to the contractor identified in paragraph 2 of the Contract Award report.
Reasons for the decision:
To enable the award of construction projects at Westfield Primary School resulting in increased basic needs provision for children in accordance with the council's statutory obligations.
Alternative options considered:
The tender for this contract has been conducted in accordance with EU Procurement rules under Frameworks previously approved by Cabinet pursuant to the Council’s Procurement Standing Orders. No alternative Options are available for consideration by the Strategic Director.
