Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: No

The Council is seeking to appoint a single contractor under separate contracts for the enabling works and provision of new salt storage facilities for the safe, protected storage of 4000 tonnes of salt at Godstone and Merrow Highways Depots.

The contracts were procured via a sub-threshold (works) tender process for both contracts.

The evaluation was undertaken by Surrey County Council and appointed consultants. The price and quality sections were evaluated and moderated by different parties and in isolation of each other.

The works will be delivered on site under separate building contracts. The proposed form of contract is a JCT Design & Build Contract 2016.

It was AGREED that:

Godstone Depot:

1.The successful bidder Ed Burton Contractors is awarded the contract.

Merrow Depot:

2.The successful bidder Ed Burton Contractors is awarded the contract

Reasons for the decision:

The winning bidder Ed Burton Contractors scored highest for both contracts achieving 85.00% for Godstone Depot and 85.00% for Merrow Depot and offered the most advantageous tender for both contracts.
