Surrey
Heath is a diverse borough, ranging from the town of Camberley to rural villages and the unique Heath.
We on Surrey County Council's Local Committee in Surrey Heath, see
this diversity as enormously exciting, giving rise to lots of
opportunities and challenges.
Camberley, at the centre of the
borough, is a major growth area providing employment and a town
centre that is to be redeveloped. As
the Highways Authority spends some £2.5 million in Surrey
Heath, we need to ensure that the traffic and transport services
are integrated with these needs and developments.
Surrey
Heath is one of the safest boroughs in the safest county in the
United Kingdom. However, there are things we can all do to make the
area even safer. The
Safer Surrey Heath
Partnership involves Surrey County Council,
Surrey Fire and Rescue, Surrey Heath Borough Council, Surrey
Police, Surrey Police Authority and Health.
Highways works in your area are decided by the Local
Committee: More information on
Road Maintenance.
But
it's not just highways we're interested in. We want to work in
partnership with the various local agencies - housing groups, youth
groups, police, education agencies, leisure groups - to make Surrey
Heath the first choice for people to live in Surrey.
Most of
all we want to communicate with local residents and ensure you have
the chance for your voice to be heard. So we will hold local
meetings in various parts of the Borough and keep the press closely
informed about the work of the Committee.
