The
Local Committee in Elmbridge is one of eleven established by Surrey
County Council in April 2002 to bring its decision making closer to
the local community. It serves to give both communities and
individuals a bigger say over decisions affecting them.
The
local committee in Elmbridge is made up of nine County Councillors, representing each of the divisions
within the Borough, and nine Borough Councillors. Together they discuss and make
decisions on a range of local services including highways and
transportation, social care, education and young people.
The
Local Committee also
provides funding
to support local projects
and initiatives that can make a difference to the community, with
over £45,000 available in 2020/21.
Residents are welcome to attend meetings to ask questions,
present petitions on matters of local concern, or simply listen
in.
