To receive an update from the SCC Area Highway Manager (South West).

New wording for recommendations (i) and (iii) was proposed by Mrs Victoria Young and seconded by Mr Wyatt Ramsdale.

The Local Committee (Waverley) resolved to AGREE to note that:

(i)         The committee approved works being progressed during 2018/19 and to ensure that any further allocations required are made by 31^st October 2018.

(ii)        Allocations made for localism to the various Town and Parish Councils must be confirmed and approved by the 19^th October 2018, and fully completed by 31^st December 2018.

(iii)       Any Highway Fund allocations not confirmed, will be returned.  Any other Highway allocations not approved or fully completed by these dates will then be prioritised by the Maintenance Engineer, in consultation with the divisional member, to ensure that works are carried out this financial year, rather than risk the funding being lost.

Reason: The committee is asked to agree the recommendations to enable early progression of works orders and expenditure of the Committee budget.

Member discussion – key points:

A SCC leaflet that came through the door of a member had details regarding Farnham road closure times that were in contradiction to the planning consent.  The Area Highway Manager will investigate.

Members thanked the Highways team for discussions to date and requested that further roads be added to the list.  The Area Highway Manager confirmed that if details were passed to him before the deadline, they would be added.

The Area Highway Manager will investigate the situation regarding any Section 106 money being available from the Bordon housing project in Hampshire, as the development borders Surrey.

It was requested that prioritization of work is done in consultation with the local Borough member, to use their local knowledge.  As there were several Bramley area issues to discuss, including developer money due from a new development, the Chairman proposed that a meeting be set up for all Bramley councillors and SCC Highway officers.
