The Social Care Services Board is responsible for overseeing and scrutinising services for adults and children in Surrey, including services for:
Ø Performance, finance and risk monitoring for social care services
Ø Services for people with:
o Special Educational Needs
o Mental health needs, including those with problems with memory, language or other mental functions
o Learning disabilities
o Physical impairments
o Long-term health conditions, such as HIV or AIDS
o Sensory impairments
o Multiple impairments and complex needs
Ø Services for Carers
Ø Social care services for prisoners
Ø Safeguarding
Ø Care Act 2014 implementation

o Looked After Children
o Corporate Parenting
o Fostering

Ø Youth Crime reduction and restorative approaches
We aim to improve services for the people of Surrey, to enable Councillors to exercise real influence in decision-making and policy development, to hold the Cabinet to account and continue to look for improved ways of working.
