For the Cabinet Member to give the necessary authority and permission to officers to proceed to facilitate land purchase (associated with the Housing Infrastructure Fund project for Woking town centre) by means of Compulsory Purchase through the Highways Act power, in the event that any initial attempts through direct negotiation prove to be unsuccessful.

Surrey County Council agreed that Woking Borough Council act as recipients and deliver the Housing Infrastructure Fund project on their behalf. A HIF Oversight Panel has been set up by Woking Borough Council. The panel meetings generally held monthly are attended by local Councillors whose areas are impacted by the scheme. At the meetings updates are provided on the project progress so that information can be shared with local businesses and residents.
