Highway Improvements To Improve Road Safety, Tackle Speeding And Support Active Travel To Schools

The county council have allocated £1 million per year for the next three years for investment in highway improvements that will make active travel to schools safer and easier. This paper presents a list of the schemes that are proposed for the current financial year for approval by the cabinet member, along with potential schemes for prioritisation in future years for information.

Engagement with local members, police, schools and relevant highways officers has already taken place when many of the individual schemes were developed. Once approved further engagement will be undertaken with local members, local communities, schools and police to refine the schemes prior to implementation.
