A New Surrey Roadsafe Road Safety Strategy Based On A 'Vision Zero' Safe System Approach, Encompassing A New Speed Limit Policy

It is recommended that Cabinet:

  1. Welcomes the views and comments from residents and stakeholders in responding to a 10 week consultation and engagement period for the draft Surrey RoadSafe Road Safety Strategy, encompassing a new speed limit policy;
  2. Approves the final draft Surrey RoadSafe Road Safety Strategy and approves the proposed speed limit policy with a new approach to 20 mph schemes;
  3. Notes that the draft Surrey RoadSafe Road Safety Strategy, encompassing the speed limit policy proposed in this report, will be approved by the Surrey RoadSafe Governance Board in June. Following approval by the Cabinet, the final version will be resubmitted to the Surrey RoadSafe Governance Board for final ratification.
