The restoration and preservation for the benefit of the public of the lands at Cobham in the County of Surrey known as Painshill Park, in a state and condition corresponding as closely as possible to the concept of Painshill Park as an artificially landscaped garden with a variety of scenery originally envisaged by its creator, Charles Hamilton, for the purpose of a public park.
