Secure Accommodation Panels are convened to meet to review the arrangements for any young person who is placed in a secure accommodation placement. The task of the Panel is to review whether the criteria for maintaining such a placement continues to be met. 

Panels must be convened within 28 days in the first instance and thereafter within a maximum period of 12 weeks until the placement is terminated. The reviews can be anywhere in the country.
