Thames Landscape Strategy Executive Review Board

Description

The Thames Landscape Strategy (TLS) is a not-for-profit partnership that champions the river corridor between Weybridge, Hampton and Kew – that for centuries has been known as the Arcadian Thames. The aim of the TLS is to understand, promote and conserve this special stretch of the river and to enhance its character – both natural and manmade.

Launched in 1994, the TLS is a 100-year blueprint for the Thames, whose vision is set out in the award winning Thames Landscape Strategy report. The report provides strategic guidance for the Thames corridor as well as a detailed character appraisal of the river’s historic, cultural, natural and recreational associations.

The purpose of the Executive Review Board is to ensure the proper operation of the Thames Landscape Strategy, to approve and monitor the annual budget, to approve and keep under review the overall strategy and agree projects through a rolling action plan covering a period to be agreed by the executive review board to consider and make decisions on proposals and recommendations put forward by the officers steering committee and the community advisory committee and to provide political direction for the strategy.
