Guildford Joint Committee is a newly formed committee of Surrey County Council and Guildford Borough Council. It has replaced the Guildford Local Committee and held its first meeting on Wednesday 19 September 2018. The Committee’s remit includes areas of responsibility belonging to both the county council and the borough council.
Residents are welcome to attend meetings to ask questions, present petitions on matters of local concern, or simply listen in – information on making a submission can be found at https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/people-and-community/your-local-area/rules-of-local-committees. The meetings are webcast so you can watch them live at https://guildford.public-i.tv/core/portal/webcasts/enctag/Guildford%252BJoint%252BCommittee
The Committee is interested in your views on how to work together to make Guildford a better place to live, study and work. Guildford Joint Committee is made up of ten county councillors who represent each of the divisions within the borough (and one additional member) and eleven members from Guildford Borough Council. They discuss and make decisions on issues such as parking, young people, transportation and highway improvements.
